Rental Calculations
The number of rental days is calculated on a calendar day basis. The day of commencement and completion of a rental is to be calculated as full days, regardless of the time of day of the pick-up or drop-off. When a rental involves more than one rental season (as per Bartrak’s rate chart) the total rental cost will be calculated by the number of rental days in each rental season and the individual cost of those days.

Booking Deposits
A Booking Deposit of $500.00 or 10% of the total rental value (whichever is greater) ensures that your rental is secured and confirmed, and is dependant upon availability at the actual time of Bartrak staff receiving your Booking Deposit.

Your Booking Deposit can be paid by following the instructions on our secure Bookings Page. Bartrak will immediately supply you with a Booking Confirmation. Your Booking Deposit is then used as a part payment towards your total rental cost.

Cancellation of a booking
If you need to cancel your booking, the following conditions and fees will apply:

1. The date of cancellation will be deemed to be the date that written notification is received by Bartrak’s Melbourne office.
2. Cancellation more than 28 days from start date = AU$75 administrative charge
3. Cancellation 28-15 days from start date = loss of Booking Deposit.
4. Cancellation 14-8 days from start date = 25% of total gross rental amount.
5. Cancellation 7-1 days from start date = 50% of total gross rental amount.
6. Cancellation on the start date or “no show” = total gross rental amount.
7. Minimum cancellation fee for any of the above clauses 4, 5 & 6 is loss of Booking Deposit.
8. Payment of any cancellation penalty shall not entitle any further hold or reservation of the vehicle by the renter.

Collection and Return of Vehicles
All vehicles must be picked up from or dropped off at the nominated and approved Bartrak depot or agency, unless otherwise arranged by Bartrak. It is the renter’s full responsibility that collection and drop-off times are inside Bartrak’s stated hours of operation.

Child/Baby seat
It is required by Australian law that all children are properly restrained when the vehicle is moving.

Young children (approximately 6 months to 4 years) must be seated in a “Baby Seat” (or child seat) which is anchored to the chassis of the vehicle.

Older children (approximately 3½ years to 8 years) must be seated a child “Booster Seat”. This booster seat gives the child extra height allowing them to fit more safely into a lap/sash seat belt. Both baby seats and child booster seats must be seated in a forward facing position.

Please visit our Additional Hire Items page on this web site for more details.

The proper use and suitability for use of any child restraining device is the total responsibility of the renter.

*NOTE – The RV2M Motorhome cannot be fitted with either baby seats or booster seats.

Limitations of Use
Bartrak campervans and motorhomes cannot be driven on any form of dirt or unsealed roads. Nor can they be driven in areas where snow exists (snow chains cannot be fitted). Other limitations of use are listed on your rental agreement.
