HitTheRoad was born from a love of travelling and road trips.
In 2009 we spent a year in this campervan travelling around Australia: 2 people and a dog. As we travelled we met plenty of travellers in rental vans and passed many on the road. At first we kept a mental list of the company names, then a written list and the culmination was an online list with a simple, one page website just listing all the Australian campervan hire companies we knew.
We grew to list and review of all the companies in Australia and a majority in New Zealand under the names eCampervanhire.com and eCampervanhire.com.au
Now we have evolved and grown again to become HitTheRoad - and now we do cars too!
Our goal is to become the most useful resource in the world for anyone wanting information or bookings of campervans, motorhomes or RVs - anywhere in the world. And the same goal will apply for car rental. We want to list all the campervan hire companies in the world. That we we can link up any person needing a campervan rental with a company that can supply the type of camper they want within a budget they can work with.

Tim first fell in love with campervan travel in 2009. Having already spent around 4 years living out of a backpack, he packed up life for a while and spent a year in a 4wd Troop-carrier campervan around Australia with wife and dog. Tim has since dedicated his time to helping others enjoy the freedom of a holiday with no timetable or locked in decisions by creating HitTheRoad and all the variations of the site that came before. Every year there is more time spent in campervans.
Dan Miles - Technical Architect
